Update history for Toddyi. Here you can find details about new features, improvements, and bug fixes.

v1.4.0

One list (v1.4.0)

  • Habits and study are tasks. A habit and a subject stand on the board with your to-dos, are written on the same form, and open on the same page. The separate Habits and Study log pages are gone, and so is the step where you had to set a subject up before you could record anything.
  • Anything can repeat, and not only weekly. Every twelve hours for the tablet, every two days for the gym, every year for the renewal — a count and a unit, on the task itself.
  • Which makes a timetable the calendar shown as study, and what you are keeping up the calendar shown as habits. Pick one task and the calendar shows the days you actually kept it, against the days it was due.
  • Colour says where a thing stands, everywhere it is drawn: green done, amber due today, red late. For something that repeats, done means today was marked.
  • Your habits and every day you checked off have moved across. What each habit was coloured has not: a task takes its colour from where it stands now.
  • The Eisenhower matrix is one square divided in four rather than four separate cards, and Toddyi on the loading screen is the Toddyi from the background at last.
v1.3.10

Paying without leaving the app (v1.3.10)

  • The upgrade no longer sends you to another site. The card form is on the plans page, and the trial starts without a round trip through a payment page you have to find your way back from.
v1.3.9

Try Pro for fourteen days (v1.3.9)

  • Pro now starts with a 14-day free trial. Your card is taken when you start and first charged after the fourteen days; cancel any time before then and you pay nothing.
  • While the trial runs, the plans page tells you the date it ends rather than a renewal date. They are the same day and they do not mean the same thing.
v1.3.8

Notes you can write without knowing Markdown (v1.3.8)

  • A toolbar now sits above the notes field. Bold, headings, lists, checklists, links, code and tables are buttons, and the text stays visible and editable underneath — Preview still shows what it will look like.
  • Checklists render. Writing "- [ ] " at the start of a line gives an empty checkbox, and "- [x] " a ticked one.
v1.3.7

Notifications that arrive, and a link that reports what matters (v1.3.7)

  • Notifications are sent again. The sender existed and was never called, so a reminder appeared in the app and nothing left the server, on any platform.
  • Browsers can now receive them. Enable notifications from the notifications page; the browser asks once, and reminders arrive with the tab closed.
  • A linked device now tells your accountability partner when enforcement is paused, when the account is unlinked, and when the usage counter is reset. Those are the ways a limit stops applying, and they were the ones nobody heard about.
  • A day's usage can no longer go backwards, and days older than a month are settled. A limit that was kept stays kept, and one that was not cannot be rewritten later.
  • The Adsterra popunder is gone. Free accounts still see the social bar; a tool for not being interrupted should not sell interruptions.
  • Fixes: the status badge no longer sits outside the task card, the collapsed sidebar shows its icons again, and the current page is highlighted however you arrived at it.
v1.3.6

Where the advertising is, and where it is not (v1.3.6)

  • Advertising appears only in the application, and only for accounts on the free plan. The marketing and documentation pages carry none — they are read before anyone has an account.
  • The privacy policy now says what the advertising does: which networks, what they store, that the cookie banner's agreement covers them, and that Pro is shown none.
v1.3.5

A banner on Android, and buttons that fit the screen (v1.3.5)

  • The free plan on Android now shows a banner ad. It appears only after you agree on the cookie banner, and Pro shows none.
  • On a phone, a task's Restore, Archive and Delete buttons no longer run off the edge of the card.
v1.3.4

Voice input, and advertising on the free plan (v1.3.4)

Two changes you will notice.

  • A task's title and its notes can be dictated instead of typed. The notes field keeps listening until you stop it, so a long thought does not have to be started again.
  • The free plan now carries advertising. It loads only after you agree on the cookie banner, refusing it changes nothing else, and Pro carries none.
v1.3.3

Android app (v1.3.3)

Toddyi is now on Google Play. The Android app is a native shell around the same web application, so every feature the free and Pro tiers already offer works on the phone without change.

  • Native sign-in with Google, through the system Credential Manager.
  • Push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
  • Pro on Android is billed through Google Play, matching the Stripe price on the web. Renewals and cancellations reach the server in real time.
  • Analytics collection follows the same consent choice as on the web.
v1.3.0

Fifteen languages and new sign-in options (v1.3.0)

The app and the public site now speak fifteen languages, and there are more ways to sign in.

  • Fifteen languages: every screen and every documentation page. Arabic reads right to left, and each language renders in a typeface chosen for it.
  • Sign-in: Microsoft, Apple and GitHub join the existing options. Connections can be added and removed from your account page.
  • Checkout: Stripe opens in the language you are reading, with the currency and tax wording of your region.
  • Due reminders: notifications for tasks approaching their due date are now created for you.
  • Countdowns: they tick every second, past and upcoming are separated, and the time remaining stays correct even when the device clock has drifted.
  • Public site: terms, privacy, the commercial-transactions notice, the FAQ and these release notes are all published in fifteen languages.
v1.0.5

Deployment (v1.0.5)

Production deployment configuration. No changes to the application itself.

v1.0.4

Documentation site (v1.0.4)

Terms, privacy policy, legal notice, FAQ and these release notes are now served alongside the app rather than living somewhere separate. (There is no v1.0.3; the number was skipped.)

v1.0.2

Life Hourglass (v1.0.2)

A new way to look at the time you have.

Enter your date of birth, a life expectancy and how much you sleep, and the Life Hourglass shows the days remaining — and the waking seconds inside them. It is meant to be looked at occasionally rather than watched.

v1.0.1

Sharper task search (v1.0.1)

Finding a task got much better.

  • Search filters: narrow by date, priority, status and quadrant, and combine them.
  • Date and time picker: drag to scroll, instead of tapping through a list.
  • Task edit page: a clearer layout for changing the details of an existing task.
